Most gate problems out here are not electronic. Gate repair means the structural side of it: a hinge torn out of the post, a cracked weld at a corner, a bottom rail rusted through, a frame gone out of square after a vehicle hit it. That is welding work, and it happens where the gate hangs.
A gate that sags makes everything else fight it. The latch stops lining up because the frame has dropped half an inch. The hinge tears a little further every time the gate swings on it. If there is an operator on the gate, it pushes against that sag on every cycle. Swapping the latch does not hold, because the latch was never the problem.

Usually a repair. A bent frame can be pulled back square and re-welded, and an impact-torn hinge can be rebuilt into the post. Because adjusting the hinge treats the symptom. If the weld at the corner is cracked or the post has moved, the gate keeps re-loading that same failure every time it swings, and it works its way back down within weeks.
